Yesterday evening,I was invited to attend the premier of PINK ,the film. The reason for watching the film were many, but the biggest of them was the presence of the legend Amitabh Bachchan.
I wouldn’t want to do Picture ka maza kirkira by revealing too much ,but the message the film gives is very very significant. Apart from the message of respecting a women and not taking her friendliness as a signal that she is interested in you, personally the message with which I connected the most was that you need not pester a person once he says a “No”. There have been several instances where I have said “No” for an interview politely, but on most instances the guys working in the channels don’t get it ,they keep trying new ways to ask the same thing and cannot simply accept the “No” and move on. It also made me remember a few extreme instances of acid-attacks on girls for saying a “No” to someone they did want to date or marry. Respecting someone’s “No” is very important, as much as it was on the Cricket field when your partner wanted to deny a run. If you don’t respect a “No” you will get run-out.
All the girls were brilliant in their performances and Angad Bedi did a very good job as well. But Amitabh Bachchan is amazing. How he does, what he does- at his age is going to become one of the biggest mysteries in the times to come. Till that is figured out, just watch PINK and celebrate the phenomena called Amitabh Bachchan.
